Ok, well, since the last entry was the winter solstice and today is officially summer solstice, I guess I’m just a wee bit behind.
I’m super excited, and sad, all at the same time, that next week is my last week of full time teaching, ever! I’m officially retiring this year and am REALLY looking forward to having more free time for all the projects that have been on my back burner for ages. And sad, because I really love these kids and my colleagues. It’s like saying good bye to my beloved family. I’ll see them all again though because I’ll be teaching on call next year and will hopefully get called back to my school a lot.
But until then… one more week of full time PLUS work, getting rid of files, recycling, passing useful songs and arrangements and teaching tips to the new music teacher and deciding what to keep for me. 12 years worth of stuff! Yikes! Look for another entry when I’ve had time to relax and access some long overloaded brain synapses!
Happy Summer Solstice, everyone!
